Hoffman Constance, costume designer
was born in the USA. She has designed costumes for opera, dance and theatre regionally, internationally, and in New York City. Her credits include collaborations with theatre artists such as Mark Lamos, Eliot Feld, and Mikhail Baryshnikov as well as entertainer Bette Midler. She earned a Tony nomination and an Outer Critics Circle Award for her designs for The Green Bird, directed by Julie Taymor. Her opera credits include Paul Bunyan (Britten), Tosca (Puccini) and many other works in opera houses such as the Bavarian Staatsoper in Munich, Oper Frankfurt, San Francisco Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Glimmerglass Opera and New York City Opera. At the Israeli Opera she designed the costumes for La traviata (Verdi).
