The National Theater, founded by Sami Levy, presents a spectacular, immersive, and huge production with many participants, singers, and dancers, directed by Eldar Gohar Groisman and accompanied by a live orchestra of 14 musicians!
The musical “Chicago” tells the story of two women who will do anything to become famous: Velma Kelly (Rona Lee Shimon) and Roxy Hart (Ronnie Delumi). Both leverage the bad decisions of their lives into the moments of fame they have been waiting for, and will do anything to make the media choose them for the headline in the newspaper. Their rivalry reaches its peak when they both arrive at the prison. They meet Mama Morton (Miri Messika), the head warden, who is connected to anyone who can get them out. Give Mama some money, and she’ll arrange for them to get the phone call they’ve been waiting for to top lawyer Billy Flynn (Ren Danker). Flynn, who has never lost in court, tries to save them both from the horrors of the law. Their trial turns into one big circus, the kind that only Flynn can create. Finally, the two rivals realize that two are better than one, and leverage their bitter rivalry into a spectacular show and the publicity they so desire.
