Carmina Burana

Tamir Gintz created his contemporary version of “Carmina Burana” for the first time at the invitation of the 2007 Kypria Festival in Cyprus. The work became an international success story and has since been performed all over the world. Gintz uses Carl Orff’s musical work as a musical backdrop for lively choreography: he dynamically moves his virtuoso dancers in accordance with the musical development to revel in games of courtship, passion and eroticism. From the ball full of desires, a variety of characters are revealed with their unique identities. The work reaches its climax in an outpouring of freedom, spiritual and physical love. In the spring of 2024, at the request of festivals abroad, Gintz updated the choreography and production. After performances that drew loud applause in Munich this year, the show is being performed exclusively at the opera.
