Ron Zaika, tenor, was born in Israel. He is a graduate of the vocal department at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, where he is currently pursuing a master’s degree. He is a graduate of the Acre Municipal Conservatory and of the Outstanding Singers Program at the Jerusalem Music Center, Mishkenot Sha’ananim. He has received scholarships from the Ronen Foundation and the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, and was awarded the Shlomo Hed Prize at the Ada Brodsky Art Song Competition at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. His repertoire includes the tenor solo in Requiem (Mozart), the Ballad Seller in Il Tabarro (Puccini), the tenor solo in Requiem (Jommelli), Tamino in The Magic Flute (Mozart, in Hebrew for children), Don Basilio and Don Curzio in The Marriage of Figaro (Mozart), and Eurimedes in Orpheus (Telemann). As a member of the Israeli Opera Chorus, he took part in productions of Rigoletto and Requiem (Verdi), The Tales of Hoffmann (Offenbach), Pagliacci (Leoncavallo), and The Magic Flute (Mozart). He has performed with the Jerusalem Opera, the Ra’anana Symphonette Orchestra, the Haifa Symphony Orchestra, and the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.
