Renato Theobaldo is a renowned set designer with a career spanning over four decades. Since 1984, he has designed sets for more than 50 opera productions, including “Il Guarany”, “O Condor”, “Faust” and “Anna Bolena” at the Amazonas Opera Festival. His notable collaborations include work with the São Pedro Theater in São Paulo and the Municipal Theaters of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, where he designed sets for productions like “Il Barbiere di Siviglia”, “Porgy and Bess”, “Walküre”, “Götterdämmerung” and “Turandot”. The opera Nabucco was a 2009 creation for the Palace of Arts in Belo Horizonte and has been widely staged across Brazil. On the international stage, Theobaldo has worked with the Wroclaw Opera House in Poland, Erfurt Theater in Germany and the Estonian National Opera. In 2024, he began a new collaboration with the Auditorio de Tenerife.
