Malte Luebben works as a stage and costume designer for theater, opera, and dance theater. As a costume designer, he collaborated with director Matthias Hartmann on productions such as Mozart’s Idomeneo (2019) and Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades (2022) at La Scala in Milan, Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov (2018) at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, Kleist’s Michael Kohlhaas (2018) at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, and a production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth in an adaptation by John von Düffel for the 2019 Hamburg Theater Festival. In 2021, he designed the costumes for GötenborgsOperans Danskompani’s work Continuim by the Greek choreography duo JUKSTAPOZ. Most recently, he designed the stage and costumes for the documentary theatre performance War Diaries, which premiered at the asphalt Festival 2025 in Düsseldorf and was subsequently performed at FEST TARBUT in Tel Aviv at the invitation of the German Embassy.
