Maya Yahav Gour, mezzo-soprano, was born in Israel. She began her musical career as a jazz singer performing in New York City and internationally. She was a member of the Dutch National Opera Studio, where she performed roles in La traviata (Verdi), Salome (R. Strauss), Der Zwerg (Zemlinsky), Anna Bolena (Donizetti) and Rusalka (Dvořák), and returned there to perform Maddalena in Rigoletto (Verdi). She joined the ensemble at Oper Köln, where she sang Dorabella in Così fan tutte (Mozart), Siébel in Faust (Gounod), Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel (Humperdinck) and Ottavia in L’incoronazione di Poppea (Monteverdi). Her operatic appearances include major roles with Reisopera, Seattle Opera, Teatro Nuovo and the Oslo Opera House. She also stars as Angelina in a new feature film of La Cenerentola (Rossini) directed by Damiano Michieletto. She is the winner of the Rising Star award at the Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition (2022) and a grand finalist at the Tenor Viñas Competition (2023). She performed in concerts with conductor Jaap van Zweden and the HK Phil.
