Born in Israel. He is the Music Director of the Israeli Opera, the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion, the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra and the San Carlo opera house in Naples. He was house conductor and assistant to Daniel Barenboim at the Berlin State Opera and principal guest conductor of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. He was the music director of the Mannheim Opera House. He regularly conducts at all the leading opera houses in the world, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Royal Opera Covent Garden in London, the Vienna State Opera and the opera houses of Munich, Paris, Berlin and others. He also conducts many leading orchestras in Israel and abroad, and in some of these concerts he also appears as a pianist. He has won scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation and the Israel Institute for the Performing Arts. At the Israeli Opera, he was the choir conductor and house conductor for many years.
