Opera treasures

Come discover the magic behind the stage in a unique encounter with Dafna Shenhav, director of the Israeli Opera’s props department, who has over 30 years of rich experience in television, theater, children’s series, and opera productions from all over the world.
Over the course of 45 minutes, participants embarked on a creative journey in which each item tells a story – from designer glasses in “La Traviata” to unique masks in “Carmina Burana.” Dafna will share the complex work processes, from the idea stage to implementation, emphasizing the combination of art, technology, and on-stage operations.
Through fascinating stories and examples, participants will learn about materials, working techniques, and secrets behind creating props such as weapons, exotic animals, costumes, and special effects. They will learn about balancing aesthetics and functionality, working with directors and designers, and innovative production processes for unique items – from masks to effects such as artificial blood and snow.
The program is specifically tailored for design and art students, and offers inspiration, practical knowledge, and a unique connection to the world of stage creation.
We invite you to a one-of-a-kind and unforgettable experience!
