Royal Fanfare

A festive concert with a touch of regal grandeur marks the opening of our new season, led by the promising young conductor Rotem Nir. In Fanfare and Niggun for Shofar, a surprising work by Israeli composer Michael Wolpe, the shofar is stripped from its ritual use and recast as a solo instrument facing the orchestra. Tchaikovsky’s popular “Swan Lake” follows, along with Beethoven’s “Emperor” Piano Concerto.
