Julian Tovey was born in England. His repertoire includes Orest in Elektra (R. Strauss), Winston in 1984 (Maazel), Belcore in L’elisir d’amore (Donizetti), Amfortas in Parsifal (Wagner), the title role in Wozzeck (Berg) as well as many roles he created in world premieres. He performed at La Scala, the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Toronto, Wexford, Edinburgh and others.
