Was born in England. He was a member of the music staff at English National Opera and Chorus Master at Glyndebourne. He has conducted, among others, Le nozze di Figaro, Die Zauberflöte (Mozart), Carmen (Bizet), Madama Butterfly, Tosca (Puccini), Alcina, Giulio Cesare, Ariodante (Handel) and others, at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, Salzburger Festspiele, the Wiener Philharmoniker, Netherlands Opera Amsterdam, Grand Theatre de Luxembourg, English National Opera, Opera North and many others.
