Vicki Mortimer, set and costume designer, was born in Great Britain. She designs for opera, theatre and dance all over the world including the West End in London, the National Theatre in London, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Broadway, American Ballet Theatre, La Scala in Milan, the Royal Ballet and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and the opera houses of Berlin, Aix-en-Provence, Salzburg, Glyndebourne, Chicago, Paris and others. Her opera credits include Death in Venice (Britten), Lesson in Love and Violence, Written on Skin (Benjamin), Lucia di Lammermoor (Donizetti), Die Entfhurung aus dem Serail, Cosi fan tutte (Mozart), Wozzeck (Berg) and others.
