Sergio Mettali, projection designer, was born in Italy. In 1986 he founded Ideogamma, a pioneering company in virtual scenery and visual design for theatre, opera, dance, musicals and performing arts. In over 30 years he has created over 400 productions for major opera houses including La Scala in Milan as well as the opera houses of Madrid, Rome, Valencia, Genoa, Lisbon, Venice, Paris, Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, Beijing and others. His opera credits include Tosca, Madama Butterfly, La boheme (Puccini), Otello, Aida (Verdi), La donna del lago (Rossini), Fidelio (Beethoven), Das Rheingold (Wagner), Il prigioniero (Dallapicola) and others. This is his first work for the Israeli Opera.
