Galina Malinsky was born in Uzbekistan. In the former Soviet Union she performed a vast repertoire including Amneris in Aida, Azucena in Il trovatore, Ulrica in Un ballo in maschera (Verdi) and Olga in Yevgeni Onegin (Tchaikovsky).
