Immo Karaman, director, was born in Germany to a Turkish heritage. His many opera productions include Duke Bluebeard’s Castle (Bartok), Beatrice et Benedict (Berlioz), Le nozze di Figaro (Mozart), Carmen (Bizet), Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria (Monteverdi), La traviata, Un ballo in maschera, Nabucco (Verdi), La rondine (Puccini), Ariadne auf Naxos (R. Strauss), The Turn of the Screw, Billy Budd, Death in Venice, Peter Grimes (Britten), Doctor Atomic (Adams) and many others. He has directed at the opera houses of Gelsenkirchen, Berlin Staatsoper, Leipzig, Dortmund, Kassel, Bonn, Munich, Helsinki and many others. This is his Israeli Opera debut.
