Rafael Apfel, born in England, into a musical family in Leeds. His mother was an accomplished piano player and teacher and his father was a renowned chazan. After studying at the Leeds College of Music, Rafael made Aliya to Israel in 2008. He took voice lessons over the years with Geoffrey Thompson, John Rawnsley and is currently tutored by Oded Reich of the Israeli Opera. He has been a member of the Israeli Opera choir since summer 2023.
