Opera in the Park

Israeli Opera productions in Yarkon Park have long become a tradition. Since the performance of La Traviata in Rabin Square in 2001, the Israeli Opera, with the close support of Mayor Ron Huldai, has been able to stage opera performances in the Yehoshua Gardens in Yarkon Park.

Thus, in July 2003, a production of Nabucco was performed, in July 2005, Samson and Delilah, in July 2006, during the Lebanon War, a production of the beloved Israeli opera Rigoletto was performed before an audience of tens of thousands of spectators, and in July 2007, a production of L’Elixir of Love was performed before a huge audience.

In July 2008, the production of La Traviata was performed in front of an audience of 70,000 people.

In July 2009, we held a concert of Verdi’s Requiem performed by the soloists, choir and orchestra of the La Scala Opera House in Milan in front of an audience of over 100,000 people.

In July 2010, the production of Carmen was performed in front of an audience of 80,000 people, in 2011, the magical opera The Magic Flute by Mozart was performed in a new and colorful production in front of an audience of about 100,000 people. In August 2012, the opera soloists took to the giant stage in the park and performed Rigoletto.

The performance in the park is free and allows even those who cannot afford it to participate in a magical operatic experience with the whole family.
