Homepage > The Israeli Opera – General Information > Meitar Opera Studio
Since its inception, the Meitar Opera Studio program has provided unique training and specialization to outstanding young Israeli opera singers, graduates of music academies. For two years, participants in the program gain experience in the multifaceted work that a professional opera house offers: working with first-rate directors and conductors, learning new roles, guidance by a professional musical and stage team, language and diction guidance, acting and movement, and more. During the study program, the studio stages many productions through which the young singers specialize in stage work, use of scenery, props and costumes, and experience operatic work as an ensemble. In addition, studio members participate in opera hours for children and in the educational activities of the Israeli Opera that take place throughout the country before diverse audiences. In its 23 years of existence, the Meitar Opera Studio program has proven its importance in nurturing operatic talent and new generations of outstanding Israeli singers. Over a hundred graduates of the studio have performed over the years in dozens of roles on the Israeli opera stage, worked with leading international artists, represented the opera in many concerts in Israel and abroad, and sung a diverse operatic repertoire with the best orchestras in Israel.
Meitar Opera Studio graduates, such as Oded Reich , Alla Vasilevitsky, Hila Fahima , David Bizich , Hila Baggio , Rachel Frankel , Yael Levita , Anat Czarny , Galina Benevich , Ira Bartman , Naama Goldman , Tal Ganor , Michal Doron, Noa Danon , Shiri Hershkowitz , Nofar Yaacobi , Shahar Lavie , Dana Marbach , Daniela Skorka, Yair Polishook , Yasmin Levy-Alentok and others regularly appear in leading roles in Israeli opera productions as well as in leading opera houses around the world.
