Shay Bloch, mezzo soprano, was born in Israel. She received the Buchman-Mehta School of Music, the America-Israel Cultural Foundation and Basser scholarships. She was a member of the Meitar Opera Studio where her repertoire included Charlotte in Werther (Massenet), Zia Principessa in Suor Angelica (Puccini) and others. She performed as soloist with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion, the Raanana Symphonette Orchestra as well as in many concerts of the Israeli Opera. Her repertoire includes Azucena in Il trovatore, Amneris in Aida, Eboli in Don Carlo, Fenena in Nabucco (Verdi), the Countess in Andrea Chenier (Gordano), the witch in Hansel und Gretel (Humperdinck), Zita in Gianni Schicchi, La maestra delle novizie in Suor Angelica (Puccini), Pantalis in Mefistofele (Boito) and others. She performed in the opera houses of Parma, Ravenna, Reggio Emilia, Piacenza, Sassari, Modena, Sofia, Bergamo, Rimini, Lubliana, Torre del Lago, the Japan Opera Festival and others.
