Lithuanian-born Christian Benedict has sung the title role in Othello more than 120 times around the world. At the Vienna State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the Mariinsky Theater, the opera houses of Modena, Palermo, Vilnius, Stockholm and many others.
His repertoire includes Don José in Carmen, Quercus in Tosca, Clough in Turandot, Canio in Pagliacci, Lazarus in The Jewess, Manrico in Il trovador, Edgardo in Lucia di La Marmor, Hoffmann in The Tales of Hoffmann, and the title roles in Andrea II, Ernani and Lohengrin. He appears at the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, the Royal Opera in London and more. This is his debut at the Israeli Opera.
