Eike Acker is head of the drama department at the Cologne Opera and a lecturer at the University of Cologne. She has been an assistant director at the opera since 2001 and was artistic director of the Cologne Children’s Opera from 2007 to 2009 with award-winning productions such as The Little Cleaner and The Little Magic Flute.
She has directed new productions at La Fenice in Venice, Gran Teatro del Liceu, the National Grand Theater in Shanghai, and the Teatro Real in Madrid.
During the coronavirus pandemic, the film Solo Turandot, directed by her, received much praise.
This is her first work in the Israeli Opera.
