Murzaev Sergey, baritone
Sergey Murzaev, baritone was born in Russia. He won several international singing competitions including the Glinka, Mario del Monaco and Luciano Pavarotti ones. Since 1991 he is a soloist of the Bolshoi Opera in Moscow and permanent guest of the Marinsky Opera in St. Petersburg. His wide repertoire includes above all the leading Verdi roles such as Iago in Otello, Amonasro in Aida, the title role in Macbeth and in Simone Boccangera, Germont in La traviata, De Luna in Il trovatore and Renato in Un ballo in maschera as well as Scarpia in Tosca (Puccini), the title role in Yevgeni Onegin (Tchaikovsky), Gerard in Andrea Chenier (Giordano), Ibn-Hakia in Iolanta (Tchaikovsky), Tonio in Pagliacci (Leoncavallo) and many others. He appears regularly in La Scala, the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the opera houses of Lisbon, Toulon, Seville, Vienna, Paris, Venice, Monte-Carlo, Berlin, Parma, Kassel, Marseille, Liège, Toulouse, Strasbourg and other opera houses. This is his Israeli Opera debut.
