Gori Eleonora, choreographer
Was born in Italy. She studied dance in Italy and then at the Royal Ballet in London as well as in New York and in Florence. She danced with the Maggio Musicale Ballet in Florence, the Israeli Ballet and the ballet companies in Mannheim, Basel and Dusseldorf. She danced leading roles in many ballets including Clara in The Nutcracker, The Firebird, Carmina Burana, Pulcinella, Les Sylphide, Magnificat, Earth Apples of Itzik Galili and Carmen of Mats Ek. In 1988 she joined the ballet of the opera in Nice where she also worked as a choreography assistant. For that company she created several ballets including Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune, (Debussy), Alter Tango (Piazzolla), Il tricorno (De Falla) and others. She also created choreographies for the operas Carmen (Bizet), Turandot (Puccini) and Faust (Gounod). In 2007 she was appointed the head of ballet of the Nice Opera.
