    Lopera Juan Jose, tenor

    Was born in Colombia. He qualified as a medical doctor before he began studying singing. For three years he combined this with his work as a doctor before coming to Europe in 1993. His wide operatic repertoire includes Nemorino in L'elisir d'amore (Donizetti), Ernesto in Don Pasquale (Donizetti), Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola (Rossini), Belfiore in La finta giardiniera (Mozart), Lindoro in L'Italiana in Algeri (Rossini), Paolino in Il matrimonio segreto (Cimarosa), Fenton in Falstaff (Verdi), Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte (Mozart), Tonio in La fille du Regiment (Donizetti), Peleo in Le nozze di Teti e Peleo (Rossini), Belmonte in Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni (Mozart) and many others. He performs regularly in the opera houses of Dresden, Hannover, Zurich, Bavarian Staatsoper Munich, Brussels, Palermo, Madrid, Pesaro, Tokyo, Strasbourg, Dresden, Paris, Amsterdam, Naples, Bari, Helsinki, Madrid, Stuttgart, Geneva, Oslo, Rome, Seville and at the Vienna Staatsoper and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. At the Israeli Opera he performed Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola (Rossini).
