Marom Itay, video designer
Itay Marom, video designer. Born in Israel and lives in Tel Aviv and Berlin. He is a filmmaker, cinematographer and visual artist. As a cinematographer, he shot many feature films, documentaries and shorts. Among his films are The Cutoff Man (Venice Film Festival 2012), The Mountain (Venice Film Festival 2015), The Day After I'm Gone (Berlinale 2019), Cinema Sabaya (the Israeli Academy prize 2022) and more. He also collaborated with prominent documentary directors such as Nurith Aviv, Ran Tal and more. Since 2014 he is creating his own films. He has participated in Festivals, group and solo exhibitions. His video work DOGS was purchased for the collection of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and was screened in Kasseler Dokfilmfest. His film, Resonance, a feature documentary, won the DEFA prize in Dok Leipzig festival 2019, participated Doc Fortnight Festival 2020 at the MoMA and more. The film Observation Diary (2023), won the best cinematography award in Docaviv Film Festival. He has been teaching cinematography in Sam Spiegel Film School in Jerusalem, Bezalel academy of Arts and in the MFA programme for Documentary filmmaking in Tel Aviv university. This is his first work for the Israeli Opera.
