Kogan Hillel, choreographer
Kogan Hillel, choreographer
Hillel Kogan, choreographer, was born in Israel. He danced in companies in Israel, Portugal and Switzerland. He created works for dance companies in France, Portugal and Austria and in Israel for the Batsheva Ensemble. He was an assistant to choreographer Ohad Naharin in the Batsheva Dance Company and abroad. His works combine movement, text, objects and sounds into a multi-layered visual language that navigates itself between subtle and explicit criticism of the art world, popular culture and contemporary society. His works focus on dance as a political and social agent, and he uses his performances for a critical observation, often by reflexive sarcastic humor, about the artist’s craft, and the complex power relations between the artist and his audience.
His works at the israeli opera:
Rigoletto (2024)
