Py Olivier, director
Olivier Py, director, was born in France. He is the director of the Avignon Festival and has directed many plays there as well as for theatre companies in France and other countries. His numerous opera credits include Wozzeck, Lulu (Berg), Les Huguenots (Meyerbeer), Les Vepres Siciliennes, La forza del destino, Il trovatore (Verdi), Hamlet (Thomas), Penelope (Faure), Thais (Massenet), La Voix Humaine (Poulenc), Pelleas et Melisande (Debussy), Alceste (Gluck), The Rake’s Progress (Stravinsky), La gioconda (Ponchielli), Lucia di Lammermoor (Donizetti), La Damnation du Faust (Berlioz), Lohengrin (Wagner), Carmen (Bizet), Curlew River (Britten) and others. He works at La Scala in Milan and in the opera house of Brussels, Lyon, Moscow, Athens, Barcelona, Munich, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Malmo, Geneva and others.
