Ran Slavin, video designer, was born in Israel. He is a film maker, video artist, visual designer and sound composer whose work is centered on electronic time-based media and the use of digital technologies to explore dynamic relations between fiction, history, digital intervention and sound. His work engages with aesthetics of technology and with the use of post-production, it draws auteur cinema, videogames, anime, electronic media, urbanism and addresses theme of materiality and immateriality, consciousness, the visible and invisible. His films have been presented among others in film festivals in Barcelona, Shanghai, Sao Paolo, Amsterdam Haifa, Jerusalem ,Ravenna and others. His recordings have been released o several labels including his own Nocturnal Rainbow recordings.
