Dick Bird, set and costume designer, was born in England. His opera credits include Falstaff (Verdi), Don Giovanni (Mozart), Street Scene (Weill), Nixon in China (Adams), La donna de lago (Rossini), Anna Bolena (Donizetti), Beatrice et Benedict (Berlioz), The Gambler (Prokofiev) and others. He has also designed the ballets Giselle, The Nutcracker, The Firebird, Swan Lake and many other ballet and theatre productions all over the world. He has worked at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Vienna Staatsoper and in the opera houses of Florence, Athens, Copenhagen, Madrid, Paris, Bologna, Wexford and others. This is his first work at the Israeli Opera.
