Adrian Noble, director, was born in England. He was the artistic director of the Royal Shakespeare Company where he directed A Doll’s House, The Comedy of Errors, Measure for Measure, King Lear, Henry V, As You Like It, Macbeth, Kiss Me Kate, The Seagull, Cymbeline and others. He has also directed in theatre companies all over the world including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the London Palladium. His numerous opera credits include Alcina, Xerxes (Handel), I Capuleti ed i Montecchi (Bellini), Die Zauberflöte, Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, Cosi fan tutte (Mozart), Carmen, (Bizet), Macbeth (Verdi), Hansel und Gretel (Humperdinck), Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria (Monteverdi) and others for the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Vienna Staatsoper, La Scala in Milan and the opera houses of Lyon, Aix-en-Provance, Glyndebourne, Paris and others. This is his first work at the Israeli Opera.
