Was born in France. He designs sets for theatre, dance and opera in leading houses such as La Scala in Milano, the Schaubuhne in Berlin, the Berliner Ensemble, the Young Vick in London, the Comedie Francaise, and opera houses and theatre companies in Rome, Zurich, Venice, Leipzig, Edinburgh, Avignon, New York and other places. Among his designs for opera are L'elisir d'amore (Donizetti), Don Giovanni (Mozart), Tannhauser (Wagner), La Traviata (Verdi) and many others. At the Israeli Opera he designed sets for Rusalka (Dvorak) and Mefistofele ( Buito).
