Andrea Markos, cellist, was born in Romania and lives in Israel. She began playing the cello at the age of seven at her hometown of Cluj-Napoca and when she was 12 she won the first place in a young musicians’ competition and made her first performance as a soloist with an orchestra. In 1990 she immigrated to Israel where she completed her studies cum laude at the Tel Aviv University with Uzi Wiesel. She was awarded the AICF scholarships. She performed as a soloist with many orchestras in Israel including the Haifa Symphony Orchestra and the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion. She performs with many chamber music ensembles. Since 1995 she is a member of the opera orchestra, the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion.
