The Tel Aviv Saxophone Quartet, The quartet was established in 2005 from the passion to develop the classical saxophone repertoire in Israel. Gan Lev began performing with his lead students at the time and thus crated a professional saxophone quartet. The Quartet participated in the International Saxophone Congress in Slovenia and performs regularly variegated programs as well as original and arranged chamber music for four saxophones. The Quartet emphasizes the creation of original Israeli repertoire for classical saxophone in general and for the Quartet in particular. The Quartet performed Menahem Zur’s concerto for saxophone quartet with the opera orchestra, the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion and performs regularly works by many Israeli composers including Arie Shapira, Ruben Seroussi, Lior Navok, Ophir Ilzetzki and others. The members of the Quartet are active musicians who perform as soloists, orchestra musicians and chamber music musicians and are also among the leading saxophone teachers in Israel.
