van Mellaerts Julien, baritone
Julien van Mellaerts, baritone, was born in New Zealand. His repertoire includes the Duke of Nottingham in Roberto Devereux (Donizetti), Garibaldo in Rodelinda (Handel), Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte (Mozart), Harlequin in Ariadne auf Naxos (R. Strauss), Mr. Fezziwig in A Christmas Carol (Todd), Schaunard in La bohème (Puccini), Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus (J. Strauss), Danilo in Die lustige Witwe (Lehar) and others. He performs at the opera houses of Gotingen, Salzburg, Verbier, London, New Zealand and others. His debut solo recital CD, Songs of Travel and Home, was released in 2021.
