Alekos Anastasiou, lighting designer, was born in Greece. He studied electronics and cinema and from 1984 has worked in film and television. As director of photography he worked on many feature and short films, many television series and many informative and recreational programs and documentaries. In 1990 he began working as a lighting designer for theatre, dance and opera and has designed lighting for over 500 productions in Greece and other countries including the plays Medea, The Clouds, The Suppliants and others. His opera credits include this production of Aida (Verdi).
