    Kaspszyk Jacek, conductor

    was born in Poland. His vast operatic repertoire includes Don Giovanni (Mozart), Pique Dame (Tchaikovsky), The Haunted Manor (Moniuszko), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Britten), Yevgeny Onegin (Tchaikovsky), Die Zauberflote (Mozart), Die Fledermaus (J. Strauss), Die fliegende Hollander (Wagner), Il barbiere di Siviglia (Rossini), Der Rosenkavalier (R. Strauss), Turandot (Puccini), Ubu Rex (Penderecki) and many other operas at the Polish National Opera and the opera houses of Detroit, Dusseldorf, Seville, Lyon, Opera North, Scottish Opera and others. He was the Artistic and Music Director of the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera and subsequently General Director of the company and also served as Principal Guest Conductor of Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Dusseldorf, Principal Conductor and director of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra and Principal Conductor of Capital Radio’s Wren Orchestra of London. He has conducted numerous symphony orchestras all over tehworld including all major Polish and British orchestras. His recording of Concerto Lugubre (Baird) with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra has been awarded the Edison Prize and his recording of King Roger (Szymanowski) was nominated for Record of the Year by BBC Music Magazine in March 2006.
