    Shrira Rona, Contralto

    Rona Shrira, Contralto, born in Israel. The winner of the 2022 Aviv Competitions in Vocal Performance (AICF). She is a graduate of the Meitar Opera Studio, the Young Artists Program of the Israeli Opera, and the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University. Rona's rich operatic repertoire includes roles such as the Princess in Suor Angelica, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly (Puccini), Ježibaba in Rusalka (Dvořák), Baba in The Medium (Menotti), Cornelia in Giulio Cesare in Egitto (Handel), and others. Rona has performed a diverse concert repertoire on stages in Israel and abroad, including Alto Rhapsody (Brahms), Elijah (Mendelssohn), Les nuits d’été (Berlioz), Kindertotenlieder (Mahler), Gloria (Vivaldi), Red South - world premiere (Haim Permont), and more. She is a graduate of the Bat-Shir Choir, the resident choir of the Haifa Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, she participated in the Common Ground Voices project, an initiative by the Eric Ericson International Choral Centre that aims to foster collaboration between singers from different countries and religions. Rona has received scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation (2023) and the Ronen Foundation (since 2021). She is also the recipient of scholarships from the Grabov Foundation (2024), Leon Nacht (2020), B.S.R. (2022), and the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music Excellence Scholarships.
