Schiff Buki, costume designer
Was born in Tel Aviv and graduated in stage design from the Drama Faculty of the Tel Aviv University. After her studies, she studied set and costume design in the theater and was artistic director for many projects for cinema and television in Israel and abroad. Her designs for theater include Six Characters in Search of an Author, Peter Pan, Agnon's Tales, The Witness, The Bride and the Butterfly Catcher, Fantastics, Life in the Theater, Yehu and recently, The Brave Soldier Schweik at Habima. She designed costumes for the films Hannah Senesh, Beauty and the Beast, The King's New Clothes and The Enchanted Scientist, and also for the prestigious BBC Folk Tales Series. She designed Tannhauser (Wagner) for the 1994 Munich Festival, a production which will be staged in 1996 by De Vlaamse Opera. At the Israeli Opera, she designed costumes for Faust (Gounod), Les Contes d'Hoffmann (Offenbach), Sweeney Todd (Sondheim), Cavalleria rusticana (Mascagni), Pagliacci (Leoncavallo), Boris Godunov (Moussorgsky) and Madama Butterfly (Puccini).
