Stern David, conductor
David Stern was born in the USA. In 2003 he founded Opera Fuco in France, an ensemble performing opera with authentic instruments and he performed and recorded with that company Medea (Cherubini), Mozart and Salieri (Rimsky-Korsakov), Semele and Jephthah (Handel). He was the music director of the music academy at the Aix-en-Provence festival and the music director of the symphony orchestra and the opera house of St. Gallen. He conducted many international orchestras including The London Mozart Players, the Handel and Haydn Orchestra in Boston, the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields and many others. Between 2008-2014 he was the music director of the Israeli Opera where he conducted many productions including Die Entfhurung aus dem Serail, Die Zauberflote (Mozart), Gulio Cesare in Egitto (Handel), The Child Dreams (Shohat), Wozzeck (Berg), Don Pasquale (Donizetti), The Turn of the Screw (Britten) and many others.
