NURIA ESPERT, director, was born in Spain. At the age of 24 she co-founded the Nuria
Espert Theatre Company. She has directed both theatre and opera productions. Among her opera works are Madama Butterfly (Puccini), Elektra (R. Strauss), Rigoletto, La traviata (Verdi), Carmen (Bizet) and many others. She has worked in various opera houses in the world including the ROH in London, Royal Theatre in Glasgow, The Los Angeles Opera, Liceu opera in Barcelona, La Monnaie in Brussels and others. This is her first work for the Israeli Opera.
