Vilnius Municipal Choir Jauna Muzika
Vilnius Municipal Choir Jauna Muzika
The choir was founded in 1986 as an ensemble for mixed voices and in 1989 it changed into a chamber choir. In 1994 the choir received official recognition as the Vilnius municipal choir Jauna Muzika. All members of the choir are graduates of the Lithuanian Music Academy. The choir appeared successfully in several international competitions, performed in various European countries and recorded for the radio stations of Denmark and the Netherlands. The choir's repertoire is variegated ranging from the masses and motets of the Renaissance to the more complex works of our age. Works by contemporary Lithuanian composers are always featured in the choir's programs. The choir also performs with chamber and symphony orchestras.
