Asher Fisch, conductor, was born in Israel. He was the music director of the Israeli Opera between 1998-2008. He is the Principal Conductor and he Artistic Advisor of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. His vast opera repertoire includes Der Ring des Nibelungen, Tristan und Isolde, Tannhauser, Lohengrin, Parsifal, Der fliegende Hollander (Wagner), Werther (Massenet), La boheme, Manon Lescaut, Turandot (Puccini), Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Offenbach), Der Rosenkavalier, Arabella, Capriccio (R. Strauss), Carmen (Bizet), Otello, La forza del destino, Falstaff, Un ballo in maschera (Verdi), Andrea Chenier, Fedora (Giordano), Fidelio (Beethoven), Adriana Lecouvreur (Cilea) and many others. He conducts regularly at the opera houses of Munich, Vienna, Bologna, Naples, Turin, Dresden, Madrid, Tokyo as well as at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and others. He also conducts numerous leading symphony orchestras all over the world. At the Israeli Opera he conducted many operas including Elektra, Ariadne auf Naxos (R. Strauss), A Journey to the End of the Millennium (Bardanashvili), Norma (Bellini), Yevgeny Onegin (Tchaikovsky), Samson et Dalila (Saint-Saens), Wozzeck (Berg), Attila, Don Carlo (Verdi), Rusalka (Dvorak), Il triticco (Puccini) and many others.
