Luis Chapa, tenor, was born in Mexico. His repertoire includes Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Calaf in Turandot, Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut (Puccini), Radames in Aida, the title role in Otello and Stiffelio (Verdi), the title role in Andrea Chenier (Giordano), Don Jose in Carmen (Bizet), the title role in Tannhuaser, Erik in Der fliegende Hollander (Wagner), Pollione in Norma (Bellini), Turiddu in Cavalleria rusticana (Mascagni) and others. He performs at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and in the opera houses of Mexico City, Prague, Warsaw, Zagreb, Basel, Seattle, Catania, Bonn, Essen, Welsh National Opera and others.
