Marilyn Gronsdal, director, was born in Canada. She has directed many opera productions in Canada for Canadian Opera Company in Toronto, Opera de Montreal and others including La boheme (Puccini) and other productions.  She revived the COC production of The Nightingale and Other Short Fables at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and was assistant director for the COC productions of Der Ring des Nibelungen (Wagner), Rigoletto (Verdi) and Yevgeny Onegin (Tchaikovsky). This is her first work at the Israeli Opera.
