Rouland Sebastian, conductor
Was born in France. He was the musical assistant of Marc Minkowski and chorus master of the choir of Les Musiciens du Louvre. He has conducted, among others, Orphée aux Enfers, Le grande-duchesse de Gérolstein (Offenbach), Les pêcheurs de perles (Bizet), world premieres of both Le joueur de Flûte and Marianne (Edouard Lacamp) Rinaldo (Handel), Der fliegende Holländer (Wagner), Platée (Rameau), Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme (Lully), Lucio Silla, Die Zauberflöte (Mozart), Carmen (Bizet), Les aventures du Roi Pausole (Honegger), La Cenerentola (Rossini) a staged production of Bach Cantatas as well as Johannes Passion (Bach), Dido and Aeneas (Purcell), Phèdre (Britten), L'elisir d'amore (Donizetti) and Croesus (Kaiser). He performed, among others, at the Opéra National du Rhin Strasbourg, the Opera Comique in Paris, and the opera houses of Marseille, Nancy, Rennes, Reims, Lyon, Grenoble, Saint-Etienne, Lucerne, Wiesbaden and at the Théâtre du Châtelet Paris.
