Marc Gingold was born in France. He has designed lighting for several theatre companies in France including Theatre de la Porte Saint-Martin, Theatre du Gymnase in Paris and Theatre Montansier in Versailles. He has collaborated with Roman Polanski, Carole Bouquet, Michel Bouquet, Philippe Noiret, Thierry Fremont, Jean-Daniel Laval, Bernadette Lafond and others.  His opera credits include La Cenerentola (Rossini), Die Zauberflote (Mozart) and Dido and Aeneas (Purcell).
