Egoyan Atom, director
Atom Egoyan, director, was born in Egypt to Armenian parents. He is one of the most renowned and award winning Canadian film directors. He directs feature, short and commercial films. His films include Next of Kin, Ararat, Speaking Parts, The Sweet Hereafter (two Academy Award nominations), Chloe, Remember, Exotica, Calendar, The Adjuster, Family Viewing and many others. His films have been screened at all leading international film festivals. His work also includes theatre, music and arts instillations. His opera credits include Salome (R. Strauss), Dr. Ox’s Experiment (Gavin Bryars), Die Walkure (Wagner), Jenufa (Janacek) as well as his own opera Elsewhereless (Rodney Sherman). He has directed at the opera houses of Toronto, Houston, Vancouver, Victoria, English National Opera and others. In 2008 he received the Dan David Prize.
