Elisabet Strid, soprano, was born in Sweden. Her repertoire includes Nyssia in Koenig Kandaules (Zemlinsky), Chrysothemis in Elektra (R. Strauss), Senta in Der fliegende Hollander, Brunnhilde in Siegfried, Sieglinde in Die Walkure, Elisabeth in Tannhauser, Ada in Die Feen, Gutrune in Gotterdammerung, Freia in Das Rheingold (Wagner), Marietta in Die tote Stadt (Korngold), the title role in Rusalka (Dvorak), Madam Butterfly, Giorgetta in Il tabarro (Puccini) and many others. She performs at the opera houses of Antwerp, Helsinki, Stockholm, Wiesbaden, Budapest, Lille, Chicago, Leipzig, Stuttgart, Oslo, Dresden, Dusseldorf, Riga, Bayreuth, Mexico City and others.
