    Lahyani Maya, mezzo-soprano


    Maya Lahyani, mezzo soprano, was born in Israel. Her repertoire includes the title role in Carmen (Bizet), Orsini in Lucrezia Borgia (Donizetti), Maddalena in Rigoletto, Flora in La traviata (Verdi), Dryad in Ariadne auf Naxos, the Page in Salome, second maid in Elektra (R. Strauss), Hansel in Hansel und Gretel (Humperdinck), Lola in Cavalleria rusticana (Mascagni), Third Lady in Die Zauberflote (Mozart), Siegrune in Die Walkure (Wagner), the title role in Zanetto (Mascagni), Mother Marie in Les Dialogues des Carmelites (Poulenc), Varvara in Katya Kabanova (Janacek), Palestinian Woman in The Death of Klinghoffer (Adams), Dorothee in Cendrillon (Massenet) and many other roles. She performs at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and in the opera houses of Seattle, Fairbanks, Wolf Trap, Toronto, Dallas, San Francisco, Las Vegas and others. She performed in many IVAI productions.
